Reserved CSMA Bond for Angola to Develop Certified SAFE Marine Area

H.E. Kristijan Curavic, President of OACM, met with the Minister of Tourism of Angola, H.E. Marcio de Jesus Lopez, during the Global Tourism Forum. They discussed the African continent taking a lead role in introducing new ocean tourism preservation policies, initially laid out in 2021 during COVID-19 by former UNWTO Secretary-General, Dr. Taleb Rifai.

African nations will gain tremendous value from the CSMA program due to their increasing plastic pollution in the ocean and on beaches.

The OACM has reserved a €3 million CSMA Bond for Angola, which was welcomed by Minister Lopez. The bond will be used to build the necessary infrastructure that will attract domestic and international investors to the tourism sector. H.E. Kristijan Curavic and the Minister will work on the technical and administrative details in the upcoming weeks to finalize the official CSMA Bond donation.
