OACM members are required to have an official OACM affiliate department in their governmental infrastructure that can support the integration of the SOS CP system.
OACM builds the official department with a mission to support the government’s natural resource management and the SOS CP system utilisation, functionality, annual maintenance and as a warranty to keep the White Flag CSMA areas clean and certified. The OACM builds the department by utilising the available structure within the chosen governmental institutions with experience in environmental care, tourism, sustainability and economy/administration.
The operational team which works under the OACM affiliate governmental department consists of operational individuals who perform the physical activities on the field (annual diving inspections, cleaning, monitoring) and are trained and chosen by the OACM administration. The OACM government affiliate office is an important aspect in maintaining the CSMA areas, system utilisation, expansion of the CSMA, partnership build-up with global, national and local businesses, and specialises in management of natural resources, cultural and natural heritage, local communication and maintaining traditional values.
This system has revolutionised the environmental issues and ocean protection, and provided nations worldwide with cost-effective, manageable solutions for maintaining the preserved marine and environmental areas intact and free of pollution.
