The communication platforms are the government's vital assets in creating an awareness connection with the public and an important step towards integrating the public in its awareness campaigns and contribution to environmental protection. OACM governance through OCEPS and GEPN is considered an important psychological step in integrating environmental protection into people's daily lives which can in long term change human behaviour and the way people treat the oceans and nature. OACM members’ requirements in addressing the public have a political perspective which defines the important issues that need to be communicated to the public about which direction the nation is going in order to provide its people with a SAFE environment.

OACM includes an education program for its members intended to be introduced to schools and other educational institutions to initiate an early start for the nation about the importance of environmental protection. The OACM public awareness campaigns are conducted only through the integrated and implemented measures and solutions about ocean and environment protection which enhances the credibility of public communication.

In the future, when it comes to public communication, OACM will develop its strategy and directives in close collaboration with its members’ previous experience and with world organizations such as the UN.
