Presenting new OACM countries at Our Ocean Conference in Bali, Indonesia (October 29th-30th, 2018)
New OACM member countries that have taken concrete measures for cleaning, protecting, and preserving the ocean will be officially presented at the Our Ocean Conference 2018 in Bali, Indonesia (October 29-30, 2018).
Ministers and high-level government officials from OACM countries will introduce their White Flag Certified Safe Marine Areas (CSMA), and the future collaboration with Whiteflag International for expanding CSMAs in their countries. All OACM countries and their governments took concrete measures in order to create the Sustainable Ocean Tourism Development (SOTD) protection program by providing high-quality beaches and marine areas that are being used by both tourists and inhabitants frequently.
Due to development of various modern communication platforms, people today have become more environmentally aware than ever, as they are more careful in choosing their travel destinations, avoiding those that are not taking care of the environment. Providing plastic-free beaches (White Flag CSMAs) and accessible marine areas is highly important for the development of tourist countries and for maintaining the global tourism development standards.
