Norway - new OACM member candidate

Three years ago Norway received its first White Flag and this year it is on the OACM membership candidate list. We are looking forward to welcoming Norway to OACM membership and expanding safe marine areas throughout this beautiful country. We will have more information after the meeting with Haakon, Crown Prince of Norway, who will then have the honor of presenting his country at the Ocean Unite conference in 2018.

The White Flag symbol, which can be awarded to a marine area only if the actual marine area or beach has been physically cleaned from non-degradable waste and plastic, has truly set a new global standard and it has provided us with safe marine areas. It is the only existing global certificate for physically cleaned marine areas. Whiteflag is also an official partner of the largest ocean, lake and river cleanup in the world that is held each year with the participation of more than 105 countries – World Aqua Day.
